Build a Makers Unite Desk!
Our friends over at OpenWorks Baltimore have done projects in the past to help people during the pandemic. They did an incredible face shield project and now they’re addressing the need for desks for kids that are being home schooled.
They’ve created a wonderful desk that can be cut on a CNC in minutes and assembled easily with no tools. Check out the assembly video below.
They’ve provided downloads for the DXF files to make a desk, but with Fabber the CAM process for making these desks is far easier. We’re offering Fabber for free to one month (no credit card required) for those that want to help. See below!
Want to make your own? Follow these steps:
Firstly: This design was created by OpenWorks Baltimore and is free to use non commercially. That means you can make and remix this design but you can’t do it for money. (getting reimbursed for materials is OK)
You’ll need Fabber’s cloud CAM software. For this project we’re offering it for free for one month. You can get it by clicking right here, or using the coupon code “makersunite”
You’ll also need SketchUp, which you can download for free in your downloads once you have a Fabber account.
You’ll need the SketchUp model which is downloadable by clicking here.
After that just follow our Getting Started guides to learn how to use Fabber.
Tag us on Facebook and Instagram, we’d LOVE to see your builds!
Happy fabricating!
